Okay, it's actually 7:54 and my kids are (#1) sitting beside me watching Wheel of Fortune and (#2) crying on and off in her crib. It's rough to listen to her but I know if I go in there to soothe her she'll only get reved up more. This is the toughest part of having a newborn. {Pause to brush #1's teeth and get her to bed.} Wow, that was so awful that I'm going to go workout to burn of the aggrevation. Hope you all are having a better night than me.
Happy June QK release!!!
No secret I'm a QuicKutz fan. Seriously. So when I went to my LSS last night for our Klub QK meeting (I'll post pictures when my camera cable turns up) and saw the new die of the month I was thrilled. It's a princess crown! And just to refresh everyone's memory I've got two princesses!! What a coincidence. And on top of that the new dies for the month are baby themed. And since I've got a newborn...what a coincidence...I'm about as happy as a kid on Christmas. And the store owner spilled it that she's got an exclusive die design that QK just approved. Mind you, she and another store designed Fabio. I know it's going to be QKute!! Haha! Alright, so I'm happy happy.
Now I've got to go watch Hell's Kitchen and try to figure out why Jen is in the final four.
That went over like a ton of bricks!
Let it not be said that I didn't try. But as so many of you fellow moms know, just when you think you've got it all figured out your kids throw you a curveball. For example Friday night. It was supposed to be day 2 of my new habit. [If you don't know what I'm talking about take a second to read the previous blog entry.] But as children are so good at doing, #2 decided it was a good night to stay awake until 9:15 rather than her usual 8pm bedtime. So there I was, wondering where this extra burst of energy had come from and how I could get my hands on a little for me.
Also I can't find my camera cable so I although I took the picture of #2's calendar as I said I would I wasn't able to upload it. It'll take a couple extra steps but I can pull the memory card and add them to my other computer then upload them from there. I'll try to photograph my latest recipe page (this month's swap is tonight and we're on side dishes).
I did get to tidy up my scrap space this morning and I can't tell you how nice that feels. You'd think I was like 9 months pregnant or something the way I've been nesting lately. I guess I'm still shifting things around to make room for the newborn in the house (that'd be #2). She's sleeping right now and just to keep me on my toes she cries in her sleep every so often. Anywho...I've been reorganizing things that have gotten out of hand. The biggest project so far was my closet. Why is it that Brian gets the bigger closet and it's never untidy whereas mine is a mess and crammed with clothes of every different size from 14-2?! I swore that after this pregnancy I'd throw away the large clothes as I lost the weight. Guess what-haven't lost the weight yet!! Soon though, [insert devious laugh here] very soon!!!
New Habit
I'm trying a new habit. Actually a combination of habits b/c I've stopped losing weight and my oh-so-comfy favorite why-did-they-have-to-take-the-Express-out-of-our-mall? jeans don't fit my "Yeah, we can have a second baby" body. Here's part of the problem: despite enjoying eating all the good for me stuff during the day I really get down on sweets at night.
What's a chick to do? Well I'm strategically placing a pack of gum right next to the baby's tub. See nothing tastes good with the after taste of mint and I usually hit the sweets right after #2 gets into the crib the gum needs to be there. My other new habit is to blog. The theory is that if I can get through the first half hour I'm golden. How long does it really take to put together a few thoughts to sum up the day? And really if I still want something to eat after that I'm probably still hungry. Such as now. So I'm eating an apple with natural peanut butter.
I'll probably be on tomorrow night to update things. I've also got to photograph #2's calendar page for the month. I am really happy with how it turned out - I used stickers on top of die cuts for the title. But more on that tomorrow.
