By now you may have caught on to the fact that I'm a Florida chick through and through.  I love all things tropical.  So it's no surprise that I'm a Parrothead.  For those of you who don't know what that is, simply put it's someone who's a Jimmy Buffett fan.  For those of you who don't know who JB is, well all I can say is Google him cause that's a whole blog unto itself. 

Back on track.  Me=parrothead.  Then it's not shocking that I scrap through the words of JB's songs.  Afterall, I was raised on that calypso, reggae, creole, country blend.  My first daughter is named after a JB song and shares her name with his daughter.  My youngest daughter was born to the sounds of JB playing courtesy of the anesthesiologist.  Like I said, Me=parrothead. 

So when I sat down to scrap these photos from our last trip to the Keys in December I heard the words of one particular song in my head.  Biloxi.  It's one that I've known since I was a kid.  The words give me chills.  And I thought they were perfect for this layout of my dad, daughter and niece.  In part it's because everyone has always thought that the two girls are sisters.  They look more alike than they look like their own sisters. 

The trip was to scatter my mom's ashes in a spot where she and my dad used to vacation together.  It was memorable, bittersweet.  And since I believe that part of my healing process is to remember the good to soften the bad this layout has been scrap-therapy.  It's going into an album for my dad for Father's Day.  It is one of my most favorite-ist layouts ever!
