How exciting!
A new adventure for me...blogging! I've been reading other blogs for ages now...but this will be my first attempt at a "virtual" community! So............., come on in and get to know me and let me get to know you!
I live in Nebraska....yes it is FLAT....and no, I am not BORED to death! I have found my time (10 years) in the "desert" so to speak, a time of reflection and learning new skills. It is amazing how resourceful you become when you have to! I know some of you understand what I mean by that and you others....well, I hope your "desert" experiences in life are short and fruitful!
I am finally an "empty nester"! My 3 children are "launched" as in living on their own with their own families. My 2 daughters live in the same town as I do (for the time being). My son is in Nashville with his sweet wife of 10 years (married at 18). All 5 grandchildren live within 15 minutes of us!
My husband and I have been married for 36 years....it seems forever when I see this number typed, but believe me, it's like it was only yesterday! I have really been blessed to have married the right man at the right time in my life. He has been the glue to my artistic personality. Without him, I don't think I would accomplish much of anything.....I love to do so many things and all at once! I married my opposite and I thank God every day for my husband is the "love of my life."
I am an extrovet and love crowds of people and get my energy from being with people in relationships. However, my best friends, those that I am close to, are few and loyal as they come.
I am a half Greek and half Danish by dna. My personality (and cooking) is GREEK and anyone knowing me learns quickly that I am proud to be Greek. My husband and I took a trip to Greece 5 years ago and loved every olive tree and loved getting to know my relatives. I miss the olive trees, the narrow streets, the afternoon naps and the evening street parties! I really miss my cousin Magda!
I earn the money that keeps me in "thread" and other fibers (yarn and fabric) by teaching on-line long distance cl****. I am a Montessori educator and have a teacher training program through Yahoo.
I dream in color. I dream in fabric, threads, yarn, paint! I quilt, sew, knit, crochet, paint, design original boutique childrens clothing which I sell. I do all of this and more in the "between moments" I have within the chaos of my life. My children may live in their own houses, but all of our lives are "knitted" together....or.....should I say "quilted" together! I know you will enjoy my blogs on our "real life" dramas....at least they will make you smile and laugh out-loud!
I hope to hear back from others that would like to get to know me better. Like I said, come on in and bring a clup of coffee...or Mt. Dew!
Blessings and Hugs ♥ Karen
