    simply swell

Good weekend overall.  Went to my friend Dana & Chris's wedding, helped Jeremy clean his new apartment, went to Waffle House, got a pedicure.  It was all good.  I'm awfully tired now, so gonna share some quick photos.

It was an outdoor wedding - so beautiful under that big tree!

My beautiful friend Tasha (she was a bridesmaid, if you couldn't tell that by the flowers).

The ring bearer was adorable. He picked up sticks the whole time! His brother kept giving him bad looks.

A crazy pic on the dance floor...yeah, I laid down on the ground to get this, but hardly anyone else besides us was out there.

At the reception, they had a mashed potato/gravy bar with all the works. Cheese, bacon bits, sour cream, chives, salsa. It was such an original idea and they served them in these martini glasses. So cute!

a swell time at waffle house
Me at Waffle House. Wow.  I look a little rough.

    my first pedicure
A pic of my first ever pedicure.  Going to have to get some more!!

    I stumbled upon the weinermobile!!

    Wednesday, July 23, 2008, 04:30 PM [General]

    me and the weinermobile

Tonight I went out with my friend Chris for an impromptu Flickr walk.  We walked in downtown Lexington.  Well, when we turned the corner onto Broadway, imagine my surprise when I saw the Weinermobile sitting there in all it's beefy glory!  I just had to get a pic!!!  And Chris even  had his wide angle lens on him, so he got the whole thing!

Oh,and I've officially decided now that I want to be the queen of campy celebrity photos.  I don't want to meet celebrities, I want to be photographed with the look-alikes and all the weird kooky pop culture icons I can find.  That's my new pop-culture goal!

In honor this great Weinermobile spotting, here's some super fun facts!

    WIENERMOBILE FACTOIDS

Length: 27 feet (60 hot dogs)

Width: 8 feet (18 hot dogs)

    The Meat:
Grilled Fiberglass hot dog resting on a lightly toasted fiberglass bun; converted Chevrolet 4-speed/W4 series chassis

    The Condiments:

    – Hotdogger voice-activated GPS navigational system
    – Ketchup walkway (oops, looks like we spilled some mustard!)

    – Computerized control panel with a sound system to “relish”
    – Removable “bunroof”
    – Rear navigational camera
    – Blue sky ceiling art
    – Six mustard- and ketchup-colored seats
    – Smiling front grill
    – Official wiener jingle horn

    Engine:
    V-8, 6.0 liter 300 Vortec 5700; runs on high-octane mustard

    More Fun Facts
    – Carl Mayer, nephew of Oscar Mayer, designed the first Wienermobile in 1936.
    – The Wienerwhistle was developed in 1951. In 1958, this soon-to-be icon was included in packages of Oscar Mayer® Wieners.
    – Since the inception of ‘Hot doggers’ in 1988, more than 300 college graduates have held the prestigious position.

Here's a great  article on Promo Magazine's site for you to check out if you want to read more detailed classic Americana info about it.

    Have a great Wednesday Swellions!
