I spent two hours in the fabric store this weekend and bought NOTHING! I went in there with a very specific idea in my head of what I want as the end product--a very contemporary quilt, lots of pastels (unusual for me)--but none of the fabrics met my needs. Some of the Amy Butler-type fabrics were close, but not exactly right. They seemed to be just a little off--the blues not mineral enough, the oranges too intense, the patterns a bit too bold. I want something softer.
So they say you have to visualize the final product to get a thing accomplished, but it looks like I went too far. I have a feeling this dream quilt won't be happening any time soon.
Which should be great, seeing as I have four other unfinished quilt projects waiting for a little love and attention.
But i went into a fabric store and bought NOTHING. I'm still reeling in confusion. That just never happens.

Sounds like when you go shopping for your perfect party dress at Christmas and see NOTHING, then spot the ideal festive frock in June when out bikini shopping. Keep looking/not looking, and let us know when that dream fabric pops up!
