So this weekend it really hit me. Christmas is right around the corner. The stores are stocked with Christmas decorations. Trees are starting to sprout up at businesses. Panic is setting in.
But wait! If part of your to-do list includes sewing holiday goodies, Sew Pretty Christmas Homestyle might be just the ticket. In this book you'll find cute, warm, and completely do-able Christmas sewing projects, including a pocketed advent calendar, reindeer hobby horse, stockings, and angel wings for a little girl. So cute.
I'm just starting to formulate my Christmas sewing list. What's on yours?
I never know when inspiration is going to hit. Today, it was when I walked by a table in area of the office populated by Memory Makers Magazine. There, on the table, was a vision that got my mind whirling. This is what I saw.
I love pom pom trim. Really, what is better on the edge of fun skirt? Or a little girl dress? Or on a kitchen towel? Or anything else? This particular batch came from Bazzill Basics, a scrapbook manufacturer. They have it as part of their embellishment collection. I already used a bit of the pink on a card for my niece. Now, how am I going to use a bit of the green...?
Pom poms: the perfect addition to any sewing (or scrapbooking) project!
I didn't get around to sewing this weekend--it was devoted to painting a tray for storing my rubber stamps. But I did get a chance to do a little hunting on the web and found a great site for sewing ideas and tutorials. It's called WhipUp, and while it's devoted to all handcrafts, a few items posted recently caught my sewing eye.
Hey, all you sewers out there! Did you know that this, September, is our month? It’s true. September is National Sewing Month. Check out the official site for more on the celebration, and sewing.org for some free projects to help celebrate. And while you’re in the spirit, check out The American Sewing Guild for a sewing group in your area.
Hello, sewing friends! I was just checking some sewing sites on the web and came across a cute one that I wanted to share. It's called Sewing Stars, and it features a bunch of delightful plushies from ice cream cone people to furry kitties made by Teresa Levy. She sells her wares as well as kits and booklets so that you can make your own. Fun! She even has a free pattern on her site for an adorable plushie mouse. Check it out and let me know what you think!
And why not share some of your favorite sewing sites? Just list them in the comments below.
