Hi! Christine here. For those of you who frequent the Mixed Media + Collage blog here at MyCraftivity, you may have seen my recent posts on my trip to MakerFaire. As a quick introduction, MakerFaire is a show put on by the creators of Make and Craft magazines. The exhibitors are all people who make things—be it crafts or science stuff like they feature in Make magazine. There were demos throughout the day, and I attended one by Moxie, in which she showed us how to make sewn monsters (see this blog post for the full report).
One of the exhibitors was Psycho Girlfriend, a group of three designers, who brought some fabulous dresses to show. I love a good dress, even ones that are made of binder clips, swim noodles or vinyl. Here are a few images from their web site for a bit of flavor.

For those into vintage crafts, Cathy of California has a stockpile of discontinued looms and craft straw that she sells at shows and on her Etsy site. She made these fancy flowers that she sold at the show as well.

Other memorable vendors included NifNaks and their felted mustaches as well as Narumi Ogawa, author of Mr. Funky’s Super Crochet Wonderful, and her sweet crocheted animals and accessories.
Have you been to any good craft shows lately? Share your finds in the comments!
Until next time,
Christine
