If you’re a gymnastics fan like me, then last night you were glued to the TV watching the U.S. women’s gymnastic team vie for the gold medal. And you know that America’s gymnastics sweetheart, Shawn Johnson, is a powerhouse player. But did you know she’s also a scrapbooker?
In between hours of practice and time with friends and family, Shawn scrapbooks her gymnastics memories. Her layout style is all her own—focusing on the photos and showcasing memorabilia--but she has an eye for colorful designs. (And she’s a girl after my own heart with all those rounded corners.) You can read more about Shawn at scrapbooking.com.
Like Shawn, do you scrap about your hobbies or interest in sports? Share your thoughts here and your layouts in the gallery.
Happy Friday, papercrafters! Do you have plans for papercrafting this weekend? To get your juices flowing, here's a little Friday eye candy--stuff I’m currently loving:
Have you visited the Target dollar aisle recently? Well, if you haven’t, don’t walk, but run there now! Dollar finds always go quickly, and among the sea of lotions, board books, and paper plates you will find—get this—scrapbook supplies.
Yes, brads, stickers and (my personal favorite) adorable chipboard alphas—all for just $1! Sure, the local scrapbook is still your best bet for the latest and greatest scrapbook goodies, but for a cheap change of pace, Target is the place to be. And keep your eyes peeled for scrapbook supplies at other discount retailers as well. As few weeks ago I came across some inexpensive metal alphas, brads and paper at TJ Maxx.
It's so perfect for summer parites, baby showers, wedding showers...anything really. I'm sure I could come up with more than one good reason to stock up!
The entry deadline for this years Masters contest is rapidly approaching, and a recent blog post by '08 Masters Tracy Austin got me reminiscing about this years group.
With the 2008 Masters, Memory Makers decided to create one unified blog where each Master could leave posts about projects they were working on, classes they were teaching and any other fun topic that came to mind. It's been one of my favorite blogs to check in on throughout the year (really, on a daily basis) because it brings so many different styles and interests to one place.
Entries for this years contest must be postmarked by July 31st, so if you’re interested in entering…you better get your scrap on! Otherwise, be sure to check in regularly on the MM Masters blog for endless tips and ideas. It’s an incredibly talented group of artists, there’s sure to be something for everyone!
