Screen printing is something that seems to be sweeping the arts industry right now. New tshirt, bag and stationery lines appear everyday. I just watched the Print Liberation teaser video in the MyCraftivity video gallery, and it got me totally pumped for this new craft book (due in stock mid June). If you've ever had an inkling of interest in learning about screen printing, you gotta check this book out!
Mother's Day was last Sunday, but I just had to share these beautiful cards by Memory Makers Master Amy Peterman. Perhaps they'll spark some creative card ideas for Father's Day!
For more Master ideas, check out their shared blog. It's packed with fun project ideas and how-tos.
Congratulations MichelledCline - you've won our Mother's Day goodie box!! Thanks to everyone who participated...and hope you all had a wonderful Mother's Day!
Today’s inspirations are brought to you by MyCraftivity members Kristin B. and Robin H. Kristin was inspired by Cindy Tobey’s layout featured in Oh, Baby!. She was impressed with the scalloped detail and lace trims in Cindy's layout, and decided to give them a whirl on her own page, "Going Green":
Robin’s layout features her oldest son (now approaching 18 years old) when he was just a baby. Robin said she scrapped these baby pics years after he was actually a tot. She’d been going through boxes of photos--most of which predated the digital age--and wanted to incorporate as many of her favorite photos from when her son was a baby. “I liked how the block design on the paper gave the page instant structure,” said Robin. “Also, I'm not a fan of my handwriting, so I was trying some lettering techniques I learned from Scrapbook Lettering.”
If you don’t have children of your own, think about scrapping with a photo of yourself as a baby…then share your creation with your own mother. What a fun way to flash back on some of your own fun family memories.
I gathered my 12 x 12 papers, chipboard designs, pens and
fibres ready to set to work. I only needed an idea and some images of my baby
boy (now 4 years old).
Unfortunately you may recall the book Get It Scrapped!
And how I gushed about digital organisation of photographs, which of course I
hadn’t started. Well not only was I not organised, I had a dreamy mummy moment,
looking at my digital photos of my kids and well…. Time flew by. I did, in my
defence come up with some themes about grandparents, etc, but failed to create
any pages.
So I shall be studying Oh Baby! this weekend to get at least
my sticky dots pumping. So if you need
the help as much as I do then we are offering one lucky reader a chance to
receive a FREE copy of Oh Baby! Just leave us a comment on Monday's giveaway blog post by May 11 (Mother’s Day in the
US) to enter..
