If you’re an early bird like me, then look no further than your living room for papercrafting ideas. My new morning routine includes a quick bowl of cereal and 10 minutes in front of the TV watching the DIY network (on HGTV) before I head off to work. (Most people watch the news in the morning, I watch craft shows…) Anyway, this morning B. Original host Michele Beschen devoted and entire episode to being creative with paper. Cool!
I love the simplicity, yet creativity of this laminated desk blotter. (In fact, even though I don’t have room on my desk, I vowed to try make one.) The segment also detailed how to use laminated paper to make a simple tote bag.
I missed the rest of the episode, but you can visit diynetwork.com to learn about using fancy paper and making paper lanterns, plus all kinds of other crafty and home improvement projects.
I was recently perusing the April issue of Martha Stewart Living (okay, I’m just a little behind on reading all the magazines stacked near my desk) and discovered this article about some sweet and simple mini-album projects. With the upcoming events like Father’s Day, graduations, weddings and baby showers, these little memory books--like brag books and family recipe albums plus cute party tag and favors--would be the perfect way to share a little love.
And while we’re on the topic of tiny treasures, have you seen this Memory Makers Masters blog post? Brittany Laakkonen offers up an adorable idea for an engagement photo mini book.
Kind of short notice, but I just saw that PageMaps creator Becky Fleck is hosting a contest to celebrate their 2 year anniversary. Click here for contest details...but hurry, entries are due this Thursday at midnight!!
HEMA is a Dutch department store that I was just made aware of this morning...looks kind of Ikea-esque. And while I couldn't figure out how to actually click on anything, the entertainment factor was definitely present on their homepage.
Click on THIS LINK and then wait a few seconds once the homepage loads. It definitely got my creative wheels turning.
Just a little something fun for a Monday morning :)
Like you, I have a tendency to be rather chaotic in my organisation! Perhaps we can incorporate our love for crafts into your storage idea and decorate our own storage boxes! I love shoes and am often left with a dull empty shoebox. But with a little paint, diecuts and stencils can turn it into a cleverly decorated storage solution! If you like clear storage look out for ideas at ArtyMiss. Now you know what Crystal and I do... what do you do for storage?
