Don’t forget! This weekend is your last chance to enter the Travel Scrapbooks book giveaway! Click here to find out how to enter.
Speaking of travel scrapbooking…I am currently—and
infrequently—working on a mini album documenting my recent trip to
Italy. (Stay tuned for photos in the coming weeks.) While waiting for
album inspiration, I couldn’t resist getting right to work on some
quick layouts featuring a couple of my favorite photos. To make the
digital layouts, I played around with the fabulous digital kits Memory Makers magazine just added to their collection of FREE digital downloads: Bohemian Summer by Michele Coleman (of Little Dreamer Designs) and Art Nation by Emily Powers (of We Are Storytellers).
Check out my digital creations for a little inspiration. Then share your own in the gallery!
This weekend, take some time for yourself and spend (at least!) a few minutes on the Memory Makers magazine web site. Along with offering great project ideas, the magazine is giving away a prize package including the Making Memories’ new Noteworthy collection.
The winner will be announced on the morning of Tuesday, June 3, so click here (now!) to find out how to enter.
And have a wonderful weekend full of crafty goodness!
Despite the cloudy skies here in Cincinnati, we're closing in on the start of a sunny Memorial Day weekend--also known at the unofficial start of summer. In the spirit of all things summertime, here are five things you can do to kick off your own scrappy summer season.
1. Download some free summertime fonts (like salt water, surf safari, and junebug) at ScrapVillage. 2. Make a summer mini album. Get inspired by this one on Two Peas.
4. Kick off your summer reading with a novel like A Page Out of Life by Kathleen Reid. Download the first chapter of this book (about a frazzled mother who joins a local scrapbook club) for free here.
Yes, I know its early but don't forget Father's Day is only a few weeks away. In the UK it is on Sunday 15th June and I guess it is the same across the pond. However we don't share the same Mothering Sunday date, so perhaps you can correct me if I am wrong. When I am finishing my cards off I can often get stuck for words, so I can recommend this cute website for inspiration.... words for cards and scrapbooks.
Children need a Daddy For many, many things: Like holding them high off the ground Where the sunlight sings!
Like being the deep music That tells them all is right When they awaken frantic with The terrors of the night.
Like being the great mountain That rises in their hearts And shows them how they might get home When all else falls apart.
Like giving them the love That is their sea and air, So diving deep or soaring high They'll always find him there.
