Toasters, vipers and the gods of Kobol

I can’t fraking wait until Friday.

If you have no idea what the blog heading or this first sentence mean, you have been missing out on the best television series ever produced. Oh yeah, I’m talking about Battlestar Galactica.

I’ve openly shared that my perfect Friday night involves knitting while watching Battlestar Galactica, and I’ve admitted that I am a sci-fi geek. But Battlestar Galactica goes so far beyond just being a sci-fi show. Really, it does. I’m not sure how the writers manage it, but a show set in space in the future somehow tackles the political and moral discussions of today.

I was all set to watch this Friday night, but after a quick peek at the BSG web site, I know what I’ll be doing during lunch this Friday. They’re having an early viewing of the season premiere on the site at noon. I’ll have to wait until then to discover the identity of the final Cylon. This should hold me over:

I also like these pot holders by LeahZ on Flickr.

If you belong to Ravelry.com, there's a BSG-watching knitting group. It's nice to know I'm not alone.
