Today my 4-block squares became 16-block sqares. I have some solid green fabric in the washer to make strips and border for the quilt top. I really had no plan or pattern and that shows in the blocks but I'm okay with that. This is my first quilt after all and I've put it off for so long; so when the urge (read as: bravery) hit who had time to flip through patterns?! I had the basic know-how from all the books, magazines, and blogs I've read so I just started picking up the squares in no particular order and sewed them together, then I took those and sewed them to others, when I was done sewing the blocks together and laid it all out I had to put some sort of plan together......in comes the solid green (it wasn't going to be big enough without more fabric). So I planned out where I want the green to go. Now I have to get it dried and pressed before I can cut it up and finish my first ever quilt top! I was going to take pictures of the 16-block sqares but my batteries died in my camera so that will have to wait until tomorrow.
On another quilting note, I found a small quilt guild in the next town that fits in with my schedule! I'm going to go check it out the second Thursday in October and I'm so excited! I hope it's a good fit for me.
