Welcome to the inaugural Quilting group blog post! I'd like to introduce myself and let you know how excited my fellow group moderators and I are to be a part of this group and share our love of quilting with the MyCraftivity Community. My name is Jenni and I am the Quilting group owner; I'll be sharing blog posts and forum monitoring with Jay and Jane (it's all J's all the time here!). Jay, Jane and I are all lucky enough to be crafters working in the world of craft book publishing and we are passionate about what we do. We are very excited to share our experiences with you and to learn what you have to share with us.

You're going to meet people in this group that have a wide variety of interests and experiences, but one thing does unite us all: a love of quilting! We're going to have many opportunities to learn from one another here and everyone's input and contributions are valued. I'm looking forward to getting to know you, seeing your work and hearing your thoughts on quilting (and other topics). To share your thoughts, and to see what everyone else is saying, be sure to visit the Quilting Forums. Another wonderful resource we have is the Quilting Gallery; I would like to encourage you not only to take a look at the incredible work shown in the gallery, but to post your own photos to the Quilting Gallery to share with your fellow community members. Dive in and take part in all MyCraftivity has to offer!

I'll begin the sharing process by telling you about some of the things I am interested in. I enjoy quilting (of course), spinning, knitting, weaving, tatting, bobbin lace (and much more!). I am passionate about the fiber arts in general, and quilting was my first love. I started quilting in high school, and my passion for it was supported and encouraged by my mom, for which I am eternally grateful. At that time, Paducah was within easy driving distance, so our annual "girl's trip" would be to the AQS quilt show every April. I have some great memories from the trips (and rolls and rolls of beautiful photographs, as well!).

I will clear the air right from the start though: with all of my crafts, I have a strong case of startitis. I've heard that it's an affliction that affects many quilters, so out of solidarity, I'll show you a sampling of what is languishing in the UFO pile:

Okay, now that that is out in the open I feel better!

Jay and Jane will be introducing themselves to you in the next few days. We're very excited to share more of ourselves and our work with you and to see what you have to share with us.

    Have a great weekend!

    Jenni
