I finished a baby quilt this morning. Before breakfast.
Time and birth wait for no man, or so it would seem, and I had a very exciting phone message from an old friend on Wednesday last week to say that his wife had given birth to their first baby. Welcome to the world Rosanna May Brookes! Frantic sewing has ensued and I completed the binding today. I’ve just got a new digital camera, so as soon as I’ve found the cable to connect it to the computer, I’ll post a photo.
My favourite instructions for really neat binding come from Heather Bailey’s blog. No lumps and bumps guaranteed (as long as you follow the diagrams exactly). In fact, I love everything that Heather’s website offers, and I think her Freshcut fabric is delicious. Check out Pam and Nicky Lintott’s use of it in Jelly Roll Quilts, where they have made a beautiful double Irish chain quilt, called Daisy Chain.

Now that I’ve completed one project, doesn’t that mean I’m allowed to start buying fabric for another? Hope so…
Jane
