What's the most unusual surface you've ever painted on?

The surface isn't that unusual—I painted on a picture frame. But what is unusual is that I used dimensional fabric paint on the frame. I wanted to write a message on the frame (Merry Christmas) and the nozzles on the dimensional fabric paints were perfect for lettering. The dimensional paint also had a nice finish and really made the painting "pop." I painted the frame two years ago and haven't had any problems with the paint coming off.

A bedpan! Can you believe that? A client brought me an antique enameled bedpan she wanted to dress up with roses. She was going to use it in her bathroom to hold all those little shampoos and soaps we all bring home from hotel stays. I thought it was a pretty clever idea!

Wow, Kerry! That is unusual, but I agree very clever. It is a colorful spin on "shabby chic!"

I would have to say that an oversized vinyl window shade would have to be the most unique painting surface I have ever used... I painted a spanish horse scene with oils and it turned out really cool, too bad my art teacher stole it tho.
