    word? score!

If you've read paper + pixels, then you know I'm a fan of utilizing microsoft word for hybrid scrapbooking. It really can do some cool things. Want to know what I realized today? I can do a little more photo editing than I realized! Sometimes the best way to learn the ins and outs of things is to really just fiddle around, you know?

Ok, so here's what I discovered. I was wanting to have 2 or more copies of the same photo overlapped to print out and use on a layout. Unsure of the exact look I wanted I started fiddling. In the edit bar (the photo one that  pops up when you have added a photo via insert>picture>from file) has some options for increasing and decreasing contrast, etc... it also has an option to fade a photo so that it's barely visible.

For me, who is often simply too rushed to open up PSE, this is great news. Now I have a cool effect for my birthday pie layout I'm using for my next Big Picture Class, and I did something new too. Gotta love creative play- I know I do!

another 'word' side note- you can totally add in decorative frames, digital embellies, etc. too. Just treat them (and layer) with your photos. Word rocks people. It really rocks. Especially from my laptop that has no photoshop capabilities (yet)...
