Anchors Away Necklace copyright 2008 Margot Potter
This is a sample of one of my demos for CHA. It's a collaged necklace on chain with Swarovski crystal accents. The red round piece is a vintage poker chip, the image is from a vintage French travel voucher, that adorable stitched ribbon is from Offray
. I used Ranger Distress Crackle paint
on the star and then stamped with red pepper Paint Dabber
and jet black Archival Ink
and accented with the Inkssentials white pen
using the Robin Beam
Bandanna technique. This is the coolest technique and it's highly addictive, that Robin Beam is one super smart gal! The stars are edged with a Krylon silver leafing pen
and the large star is edged with Krylon paint pen
in red, on the back of the stars I used the pen nib as a stylus and carved the accents into the red paint showing the silver underneath. Love this nautical theme, can't stop working with it!
I have three mixed media/paper crafting jewelry demos daily for Beadalon
, which are thankfully figured out. I managed to take one rather large item off of my plate yesterday and now I can concentrate on getting everything packed to ship out and getting my Designer Showcase figured out.
And now for something completely different...for those of you who are not faint of heart, yesterday I had a mysterious flow of traffic coming from a gay porn blog post on Fleshbot titled "French Bottom Boys Sparks International Booty Showdown". I had to wonder what on earth the buzz was about as I'm quite sure I'm not a boy and I don't have a booty worthy of an International showdown. Then I clicked on the link and discovered they'd hot linked me in a paragraph about the age old dilemma between "face and fanny" If you Google ‘faces and fannies' this post of mine comes up first, so that must be how they found me. This is not a site for anyone under the age of 18 and I can't link it from here. I tried, but I took the link out because it wasn't working and I don't want to get in trouble for spreading porn on Blogger! I Twittered the link though, so if you Twitter you can see it!
Stay tuned for the most auspicious debut of a brand new The Impatient Crafter video later today or early tomorrow! WOO HOO! It's a good one, I promise.
xoxo
