Hi beaders!! I was hoping the word "bizarre" would get your attention. I was just anxious to share these interesting wood "beads" with all of you. I found them recently at Hobby Lobby and had a sort of jaw dropping moment when I saw them. I wasn't exactly sure what they were or why, but I couldn't stop looking at them or touching them. That's always a sign that I need to buy something, so I did!
I'm very anxious to work these into a jewelry design, so holler if you have any cool ideas!

I was just updating my daily bead blog over at www.abeadaday.blogspot.com and wanted to mention something about this extremely cool bead over on mycraftivity because of all the artsy people over here.
I just picked this bead up at Hobby Lobby yesterday and when I first layed it across my wrist I thought "photo frame". Then I was thinking about all the gorgeous art glass beads that would look great floating in this wooden "frame" bead.
I was also thinking about all the great artistry I have seen in free form peyote with seed beads and how cool something like that would look within this wooden frame.
I hope you'll let me know if you have any other ideas. The cool thing is, this strand of wooden beads came with either 4 or 5 pieces. Maybe the challenge should be how diverse can you make pieces out of the same focal bead...
Hi everyone! I hope you are all having a wonderfully crafty Saturday! Since this site includes all types of crafters and for some reason I think it's my mission to convert non-beaders into beaders, I wanted to post a couple more jewelry pieces that can be made by anyone (no beading skills required).
I just made the blue one below last night after making a trip to our local Michael's store. The large hoops are acrylic and the small discs are glass. The only tool you need with this project is a pair of pliers if your fingers are senstive. These silver jump rings are so large I was able to open and close them with my fingers. I just added a magnetic clasp to the end jump rings for ease in getting the bracelt on and off. (Yes, it does sort of want to stick to the metal ring, but I get a kick out of that).
I made the bracelet below last year around this time just for something fun and funky to wear with a particular outfit. The funny thing about this bracelet is I was making in a dimly lit room with the beads on my lap and didn't realize until it was done that the wooden beads I was using were purple, not brown. I thought it turned out great with the purple and is something I wouldn't normally have done. I did hang a bunch of dangles off this one using head pins, but that isn't absolutely necessary. The only tool again would be a pair of pliers to finish off the memory wire.
I hope I have convinced at least one of you to think about making a fun piece of summer jewelry, you can do it!
Hi everyone! I have so enjoyed looking through everyone's blogs and pictures of their craftivity. It's amazing how many people have the desire to create. It's great to have so many ways to connect and share with each other around the world. I have so much gratitude for the smart computer people who created all of these possibilities!
What I really popped over here to share today are these earrings I made with paper punch cutouts. I went to a stampin-up get together recently and intended to get some inspiration for jewelry making. One of the card projects we made used the 3 flower paper punch. I knew when I saw the little paper flowers that I had to try to make earrings with them. I wanted to share my first attempt here. Now, don't look too closely, time was short when I was playing with this and these could use a little trimming, but I really LOVE them and wanted to share. I know there are lots of multi-crafters out there who like to cross over and incorporate one craft into another, so please share back with me your ideas for crossing over. Thanks!
