Experimenting With Collage

I just finished a collage class at a funky, local art gallery/coffee shop. It was my first time experimenting with collage, and I truly enjoyed it. As a writer, I'm inspired by words and poetry, and I liked layering words with paint, papers and fabrics to create a visual poetry of sorts on canvas.

I especially liked using photocopies of postcards my grandfather sent my grandmother during WWII.

I added additional texture by covering the finished piece in beeswax.
