    Newton Abbot, Devon, England
My Crafts: I have produced the following knitted toys - a floppy rabbit, a monkey and a panda, and I once made a cardigan with bambis on the front. I had to follow a chart, so I was quite proud of myself over that! I have also knitted jumpers for myself and even a man's jacket.I have periods of time when I knit for months on end, sometimes staying up until the early hours to finish something. And then I go for long periods of time when my knitting equipment stays in its bag and I don't touch it. I am ashamed to say that I have an Eeyore I have been working on for at least two years! I'm sure that now I have found this site I will be pushed into picking it up again, if only to write a blog about it! I've also dabbled in needlecrafts, cross-stitching an owl bookmark and producing a long-stitch Care Bears picture. One day, when my house and garden are finished, I intend to devote more time to my hobbies.
My Shows: I like to watch some of the soaps (Coronation Street & Eastenders), as well as Casualty, Location, Location and Grand Designs. I'm also a sucker for diet-type (Supersize versus Superskinny) and fashion programmes, (How To Look Good Naked). I think Gok Wan is wonderful!
My Movies: Bridget Jones' movies and all of the Harry Potter ones.
My Books: Reading is one of my pleasures. I enjoy fiction writers such as Helen Forrester & Marian Keyes, plus the occasional biography. I've also read, and enjoyed, all of the Harry Potter books.
My Magazines: I like to flick through the knitting mags, just to see what's happening out there. In fact I photocopied one of the patterns, bought the needles and the correct wool, but so far haven't got around to picking up my needles!
My Music: A wide variety ranging from the seventies, (Led Zeppelin, The Who, Queen, Whitesnake for example)to U2, James Blunt, Katie Melua, Eva Cassidy, Norah Jones, Joss Stone, Snow Patrol, Lilly Allen and loads more.
    My Occupation: Assistant Product Manager
My Family Members: My husband Roger, my son Shane, my daughter Elise, and their repective partners, plus my step-son Richard, and his girlfriend Natalie. And not forgetting our granddaughter Jessica, who's five.
My Other Hobbies: I enjoy walking in the country, on the moors and on the beach, taking our boxer dog, Alfie, or our granddaughter Jess. I have also recently taken up Aqua Fit (which my daughter and I jokingly refer to as Aqua Fat!)I love going on holiday, relaxing, reading and taking photos. I've dabbled in cardmaking too, with Jessica's help. Plus I enjoy socialising with friends and family, going out for meals and having the occasional glass of wine.

    Making cards

Tuesday, May 20, 2008, 09:18 AM GMT [General]

My grandaughter Jessica came to stay at the weekend, she is almost four and such a live wire. Like most little girls she needs to be entertained all the time and I am always thinking of things to do with her.  With this in mind I have been collecting card making bits and pieces for some time and bought a special box to keep them in. I needed a  card for my friend's little girl's ninth birthday but purposely hadn't bought one thinking this would be a great opportunity to keep us both busy, as well as starting my card making hobby. Jess and I had such fun and I must admit we were both really pleased with the end result. Making cards turned out to be the perfect way to keep us both busy. I will be doing it again, maybe on my own! And, who knows, once I get to grips with this online technology, I may even be able to insert pictures on my site to show you.
