    Last-minute Mother's Day ideas

Friday, May 9, 2008, 02:13 PM CST [General]

We have a gaggle of geese (if four or five make a gaggle) on the grounds around the office. They're not very friendly and often downright rude. They seem to know when everyone wants to go home or is in a hurry, because that is when they decide to cross the parking lot or road. I usually don't mind, and in the spring it's a pleasure to watch the brood of goslings nestled between the parents as they walk to the pond. I try to enjoy this sight while i can, because in a few weeks, I won't be able to tell the goslings from the parents. (I wish I could take credit for this super cute photo, but it's courtesy of Fox News.)

Although animals aren't expected to have gifts for their moms this weekend, we are. Even when your mom says you shouldn't have...you should. If you haven't bought anything for your mom yet, here are a few blogs and Web sites that feature projects for Mother's Day.

Mom Tattoo Cookies—Show Mom how much you love her, but in a "nothing is permanent" way.

Embroidey project by analiliav on Flickr—This doesn't seem too complicated, but so personal and unique.

Craftzine round-up—Five quick and fabulous gifts.

Quote Garden—If you've got the gift, but are at a loss for words, try this site for some sayings, poems and quotes fit for any Mother's Day card.

Pimp My (Toddler’s) Ride—Little Tykes never looked so cool. (OK, not for mothers, but a fun site to visit.)

    Happy Mother's Day!

    Robin
