OWL!
I have waited forever to say that (at least it seems like forever!) so I am happy to finally get to share. I got to create a custom die for winning the Quickutz Perfect Shape contest (the winner was randomly chosen by the way).
I haven't received the final die with the packaging yet (I just have a protype die) but the image can be viewed online. Quickutz is showing it differently than I would have. Three things... the head needs to be lower, the eyes should be closer together, and the feet should be closer together and behind the body. That is how I always pictured it in my head anyway. A view of how I thought the owl would be is pictured above.
I am so happy to finally share this: I was asked to be a guest designer for Fiskars Crafts. I was thrilled for the opportunity and the product was so fun to work with. I loved the Cameo Appearance Squeeze Punch I got to play with - it's the perfect size. I really enjoyed taking a trip down memory lane with all the photos of past Halloweens. my babies aren't babies anymore!

The present. What's going on right now in your life. I challenge you to record it to remember it.
My present:
You have everything you need right now to be vibrant and fully engaged in the creative process. Join me and dozens of other scrapbookers in a challenge to "Give Yourself a Present."
Snap ten photos of your life right now.
Compile these photos in a small mini-album.
Keep or carry this album with you (in your desk drawer or purse) for one year.
Promise to glance through the album every time you stumble upon it or pull it from your purse.
On October 1st, 2009, create a scrapbook page about your experience. (don't worry, I'll blog and help you remember!).
My mini-album:
I used a 3x3 mini album from We R Memory Keepers to create my mini book. I printed the photos out to 2.5" x 2.5" then matted them on 3" x 3" papers, added a note on the back of each, then slipped them into the included page protectors. For the cover, I used Heidi Grace paper and stickers and my Threading Water Border Punch.
There are lots of other scrapbookers participating in this challenge too, you can check the list out on Stacy J's blog.
oh my goodness! I am beyond excited! The prototype for my custom QuicKutz die arrived yesterday. I'm totally doing a happy dance!!! It's so CUTE!!! Thank you QuicKutz! I just got the die cut part, not the packaging so that will be a fun surprise in itself when I do get it. I assembled it and it's adorable!!! I can't wait until it's officially released!
My apologies for not being able to share more details... it's really hard not to do. I did however want to share my excitement. I feel extremely lucky!
