Hey everyone, It's been along time since I posted anything. I have been extremely busy. I moved into my own little apartment and am loving have the freedom to do what I want when I want to do it. I have been sewing up a storm, mostly making wedding gowns and different bridal parties. I love to work with the different fabrics, colors and styles that the girls are wearing today. It's such a thrill to see the designs come together into a gorious gown. I just wish that I was a thin as some of my brides. Happy crafting, Kim
Sewing Machines!!
Hey Everyone, I'm so excited I just bought my first serger. It is awesome. I have always wanted one and now was my chance. I can see a lot of projects coming out of my sewing room now. There is so much more your can do with a serger. I was sewing my seams twice, one to put in the seam and next to finish the seam with a zigzag stitch. This is so much faster and it makes a nicer seam. There is no puckering and the seam lays just as flat as can be. I AM IN LOVE!! Happy Sewing, Kim
My son the graduate!!
I'm so proud of my son. He graduated from college on the 20th of December with his BS in Health Sciences. This is his picture in his cap and gown. He is 34 years old and has 4 wonderful children. I'm sad though because they are moving over an hour away so he and my daughter-in-law can be closer to where they work.
Projects!!
I have already done two of my planned projects, 2 wool skirts. They turned out wonderful because I made them the way I wanted them done without a pattern. I was at our local Wal-Mart the other evening and found pink fleece for $2.85 a yard. What a deal, fleece is expensive. They usually run it at $9.99 a yard. I bought 6 yards and plan on making a floor lenght sweatshirt. I already have it started, with it being cut our and the neck band put on. I just have to put the bands around the wrists, set the sleeves and run up the side seams and it's done. I think I will have enough left over to make myself a regular sweatshirt. Any way, Christmas is tomorrow and I hope everyone has a Blessed One. Happy Sewing, Kim
Getting Projects Done!
Hey Everyone, I am finally getting the projects that I have bought fabric for done. I have already made a skirt and have another cut out and ready to put together. I have a dress jacket that I want to make before I have to go back to class in January. I think I should be able to get it done. My mother-in-law gave me some funds for Christmas that will go towards replenishing my stash so I have the material I need to do more projects. I never know when I'm going to have the time to work on something and I like to have what I need on hand when I am ready for it. Wishing all of you a Blessed Christmas and a Happy and Proporus New Year. Kim
