Hey Everyone, My granddaughter will be 3 on Tuesday. A while back I decided to make her a DORA cake for her birthday because she loves Dora. We are having her party tonight, so I did the cake last night. The pan alone cost me $12 and I needed 8 different colors of icing. Each color was $1.59. I made my own buttercream icing. It was so much fun decorating that stupid DORA cake until 1 am this morning. But she just loves it!! I think it was definately worth the trouble. Her name is Serenity. So if you think that you can't do something like this, think again!! Kim
Invitation!!
I would like to invite everyone and definately urge you all to join the local chapter of the American Sewing Guild. This organization is awesome and will be enjoyed by all who sew, want to sew or to learn!!
Long Time No See!!
It has been a long while since I last posted a blog!! I have been very busy with classes and doing enough altherations to float a battleship. I also work part-time in a very exlusive restaurant. I have alot of sewing to do, but can't find the time to do it because it is for myself. I have made Holloween costumes for my grandchildren and am now working on Christmas things. I have all of my gifts for Chirstmas done and all of my cards addressed and ready to send out the second week of December. I just have to buy for the little ones and I have one of them done. It's my 4 year old grandson that is giving me trouble. The older kids get a gift certificate from Wal-Mart, that way they can spend it on something they want or at least have money to put toward something more expensive. Happy Crafting, Kim
Hemming anyone!!
Hey, I am currently hemming tablecloths for the restaurant I work for. They need to be 163 inches, cut from a tablecloths that are 300 inches long. What a job!! I am going to charge them big time for this project. Anyone interested?? Happy Sewing, Kim
Baking Expo!!
I have never seen anything like this in my entire life. There were at least 1500 companies from every aspect of the baking world there. Everything from cookes, cupcakes, candy, muffins, pastries, etc. in every form imaginable. And everyone had free samples. I think I gained 20 pounds. Every type of oven and mixer, from professional to use in the home. You can't imagine what it was like. It would take me days to try to tell you everything I saw and tasted. The wedding cakes were out of this world. As soon as I get the pictures I will try to post them. We ate at Ceaser's Palace, the Boardwalk was awesome. I had the best time!! Now it's back to the real world. I'm not saying this was fantasy just that it was incredible. Till later, Kim
