"IT" has arrived. Week #1 of the Hoarder's Challenge. Hereby deemed the MycHoarder's. There is no pledge/oath/secrethandshake/code-well maybe code. What we do have is STASH... the most horrid of habits? the most disgusting display of paper pageantry? A wild, rampant, beautifully lucious mess of embellishments? Of course. It's a well-known fact. It's a common occurence. EveryOne is Doing IT. Some Hoarder's Hoard different things. This Challenge will Stick Down that Hoard, Chipboard it away Monogram by Swirly Thingies, Button it Up, Gloss Over it, Tie it Down, Stamp it Out, Trim the Excess, Cut it, Collage It.

This is your ScrapTherapy Session. This is your opportunity to PURGE and REDUCE  and CREATE HAPPINESS. That is a good thing, no one needs a degree to figure out.

Each "Weekly Challenge" will be approximately TWO WEEKS

WEEK #1 IS: SCRAPS AWAY!!

Scrap: (n) English, Small piece of paper, remnant, fragment. Anything between 2 inches by 3 (from the side of your silver metalic paper that you punched stars out of  to match the silver ones  in your daughter's prom photo background) or 12x 12 (you know that beautiful Blue paper that you used ONE 6x6  square of to match your daughter's prom photo?) Yeah, those. Don't Deny It. You Know it True.  .

GUIDELINES- A Plan, s'il vous plait. There, are no RULES to this.

TAKE UP THY OVERSTUFFED "SCRAPS" folder/notebook/file cabinet. that is organized in some manner. Use them on a PROJECT: Equivalent to paper usage, in the form of  any thing.

ENJOY THYSELF IMMENSELY: Go forth-Live, Create, Enjoy.  It is all on you, get groovy, messy, whacky, creative.

BE INSPIRED:  Other Idea Galleries, here and around the Internet. Modern Art sites are good too. Craft Mags, ads, or Table of Contents pages

SHARE THY CREATIVITY: Post links in this thread and in your MyCraftivity blog/gallery where you have posted your work with "MyCHoarder's Wk #1" somewhere somehow in the caption . Please list your supplies, any techniques, a  link to your inspiration, if you used a publication, or scraplifted someone else.

PRAISEWORTHINESS: Be kind, Rewind. Leave an encouraging Comment to other participants. It is-The Way to Inner Happiness: Kind Words from Others Come Back Threefold-Kind of thing.

Like I said, No Rules.

TO SCRAP OR NOT TO SCRAP-Yoda said : "Try not. Do or Do Not There is no Try." Work at your own pace. Feel the Force of Happiness as you Create with your Scraps. This is a 2 week challenge. You've got tons of time. Really. You forgot, missed the "enddate" so what? Catchup, Skip, Dance the Zippity Do Da Dance, and just have FUN FUN FUN.

BOTTOMLINE; Use up the Stash... because, each time we do a project, the Stash grows. My theory is this: The more I use up my supplies,  more shopping can be done to replace said supplies. Now! Are You With Me?  Each Week will have a topic.  Topic suggestions can be sent  to me, I will just post it-so anyone can be a Silver Star backed on Midnight Blue Glitter Paper. .

Alas, I did not get the separate Challenge SubGroup completed. I need help doing that.  I am challenged...ha

Here is a sample of using Scraps. I did this a while back. I had cut some of the paper for a project, then went a totally different route with that so I had these nice little 12 x 2 strips. Perfect. This is a modification of a scraplift of SomeOne Else's Design-and since that came from another weblist I am on, I am unsure of linkabi

Spin: Swirls  had been drawn on cardstock-first, but I didn't like them all that much. So I layered Longer  Strips of paper about three-four inches, slightlty overlapping with torn ends- they only go a little way under the photos! Adhered photos on top of that. ,Even though one is a litte over pixelated, and appears blurry, I liken it to movement as she was spinning. Quote was  typed in a clean font, then printed out. I traced it on a transparency using a Sharpie. Warning. Sharpie or Fine Point Paint pen work good, but give them time to dry and then cover with page protectoror the will chip and wear off.  The letters were white, colored with silver CM paint pen. I used strips of paper from my Red and Pink stash. Hiedi Swapp pink tape,  Paper: Assorted unknown makers, collage papers, Autumn Leaves, Paper Studio, CM. Daisy D's, .  The transparency was tricky,  it is stuck under the tape, the photo and ever so cleverly under the words-note paint behind words. I don't have any girls, so these darling neices of my cousin's were the perfect opportunity to do Pink too.

I just joined and it seems like perfect timing too!  I have tons of scraps--no lie!  It's awful how I hoard.  Okay, I'll admit it.....Hi, my name is Lori, and I am a HOARDER!!  Can't wait for this to begin (or maybe it already has....).  I need motivation to use up my scraps.  This is so cool!

Did y'all see the newsletter! Of course you did... (giggle giggle teehee) Thanks so much Ginger for  picking this to feature this week.

Let's see what y'all have done! I am so excited to get this going. Anyone can jump in and play along at any time!

Ok. this may not be the place to promote this but I am going to any way... Stumped for a layout design...check out www.pagemaps.com.  Beck Fleck has it going on over there.

There is also a  palette Generator at www.bighugelabs.com  you just upload you photo and click the generate palette button and VOILA an instant palette so that you can get harmoniousness from photos. Got a group photo with mixed colors...this thing can bring it all into happy coordination. Give it a spin!
