    Decoupage, Anyone?

Tuesday, November 4, 2008, 09:22 PM EST [General]

Hi to Everyone...... I'm looking for people who decoupage. I do reverse decoupage, but sometimes I do decoupage also. I love the craft. I use primarily fabric, but sometimes paper napkin, sometimes giftwrap, sometimes cutouts intended for decoupage. I guess my favorite is still fabric. I also use fabric panels to make wall hangings, but I did more of that before I found the reverse decoupage on clear glass plates. I just love what this medium does for anything I put on the back of a plate. I do it mainly because I like it so much, but I have sold my plates and wall hangings for many years.

After I married Jack seven years ago we began to make wood items..... paper plate holders, small tables and so forth. Jack likes to design and make the wood things, and I decorate them. In fact, the tables have fabric decoupaged to the tops and then he covers my fabric decoupage with several coats of polycrilic to make them waterproof.

I know there must be someone out there who does the same thing as I do. I can't be the only one among this whole crowd........ Hope someone will answer this message.......

    Using Etsy...... Help!

Saturday, October 18, 2008, 03:35 PM EST [General]

I have a shop on Etsy. I have put nothing into it. There are so many pages of stuff to read and digest that although I have made a copy of them, I can't figure out how to get started. I'm worried I'll do something wrong or leave something out that needs to be figured out. I just feel a bit overwhelmed with this project, but I need to sell my craft on the internet. Maybe someone out there uses Etsy to market their crafts and can help me to get it going.

    Howdy Ceil!
I love starting a new school year. I have to say, this year is off to a somewhat more than trying start, but it's finally settling down (just in time for the Halloween candy mania).
    How are you doing?

plush is just the general term for a handmade item resembling a soft toy. i tend to use the term rather than soft toy, as using the term 'toy' has health and safety implications, like any sewn on buttons really should be safety eyes for instance, if it is going to be played with by a child.

plush just seems more appropriate, as getting into the toy market isn't really the route i want to take with my work, it is more ornamental art than toy (i hope!).
