    Catch Up

Monday, September 15, 2008, 04:06 PM PST [Scrapping]

Boy has today been my day to Catch Up. I have been working like crazy. I finished two of the lessons from last week which really is four as there is a journaling lesson before the scrapping lesson. Now I will need to go back and see which papers and fonts I used so that I can post the finished layouts here. It has been crazy trying to stay current with the class and have company at the same time. Also that is, of course, when life decides to get in the way in many other ways. Things always get busy all at once.

I must rave a bit about the classes that I have taken from Jessica Sprague. They are so filled with information for those of us who digitally scrap that sometimes I feel like this old brain can't take it all in. Really she packs each class with so many ideas, goodies, and tasks, that you do start to become excited about what each day will bring. If you are interested in learning to scrap digitally her classes are great.

The class I am taking now is called Type+Write. It is heavy on writing and also on text work. I am learning how to grunge up text, how to tilt text, how to change a quote into a brush, etc. etc. Then I have to go and find the photos to use. Not having young ones around stretches my imagination quite a bit when it comes to subject matter.  'nuf said. Here are the first two:

In The Final Tally I used: Mod Circles and Torn 'n Tattered paper templates by Anna Aspnes, Barcelona Circles-Lynn Grieveson, Vintage frame, stiched journaling strips, postmark locations brushes and stamps,-K. Pertiet, The Final Tally template and TW papers by J. Sprague, santana black, and PeaLisa fonts.

In 17 small things I used Notebook Coordinate 2 paper, TW-green solid, TW-Gold dots, and template by J. Sprague, KingMe 3 and Serenity 8 papers-K. Pertiet, KH Mize Pacific Point Stripes paper. Quote by Beverly Williams and Justus and Charms BV fonts.

    Quick Shower Album

Wednesday, August 13, 2008, 03:38 PM PST [Scrapping]

The lovely young friend of ours who was in the pregnant layouts that I did last week is in the hospital having the baby as I type this. We are all so excited to meet little Ryan. I gave his mother Robin an 8x8 album from Memory Makers as a gift and a coupon for photos each month for the first year. She was so thrilled. I had no idea that she wanted to learn to scrap. Now I have a new scrappin' buddy.

These photos are from the little album I made of pictures from her baby shower. I used the tutifrutti quick page album from We are Story Tellers by Paislee Press. It was such fun as I had purchased one of those little $1 albums at Michael's and it came together in no time at all. The paper I used for the cover is from Basic Grey. I added a few button brads and summer brads (unknown)... .. . ..

    Where are they?

Wednesday, July 23, 2008, 12:36 PM PST [Scrapping]

I was just reading Cindy's blog and she mentioned scrapping this weekend. I really miss getting together with a group of other scrappers and playing with our photos and paper. I do meet with other paper artists each week, but it isn't scrap time. I have a huge and lovely cabana room available to me here at our condos and would love to scrap with others there. But how do I find scrappers in Bellevue, Washington? Does anyone have any ideas to share with me?

    Cut Loose - Challenge

Tuesday, July 22, 2008, 04:02 PM PST [Scrapping]

This is going to be interesting. The first challenge from the new book and I am already changing it. The challenge reads,"Scrap a page about a favorite object of yours." I scrapped a page about a favorite object of Jon's. I will do one of mine tomorrow. This was our latest purchase and a very special one as the journaling points out. It is a hybrid layout with the journaling in a pocket on the back and a few of the words ( the & best) cut out and applied with glue dots. Everything else was completed on PSE 6 using a ScrapArtist kit by Lile Khadfield called "Circle of Friends." This was such a relaxing and enjoyable experience. Once again nothing like my usual style. Perhaps when I finish enough of the challenges I will have to redefine my style.
