    Thanks for the needles

    Thursday, February 7, 2008, 02:59 PM [General]

    Hey Katy,

Thanks for the way cool acrylic needles. I'm going to buy some chunky yarn this weekend and start knitting a purse for spring. I think I can handle that. Maybe a pink and white mixture.

Anybody have any suggestions on what I can do with mosaics? i went to the craft store and there are all kinds of neat glass and ceramic pieces along with plastic forms to lay them in but I don't know what to cover. Maybe a serving tray, but like who needs that?

Do I really want to knit?

    Tuesday, February 5, 2008, 04:38 PM [General]

In a weak moment of domestivity, I found my bag of yarn and needles and dragged it into the living room Sunday afternoon. I figured I would try knitting again while the guys at my house watched the Super Bowl game.

It was a good idea. Except the game was so exciting, I never did pick up the yarn. But I have not given up hope.

i've knit blankets and scarves in the past, but I knit too tight. I thought larger needles would help, but they didn't. I even took a knitting class. The instructor suggested i have a glass of wine to loosen up. Heck, I had a whole bottle. My knitting wasn't any better, but at least I didn't care.

If anyone has suggestions on a better way to hold the yarn, or if metal needles are better than wooden, I'd appreciate it. Knitting is supposed to be relaxing, but for me, it's a battle. And don't get me started about crocheting. That was a disaster.
