So I sold my first hat last week and I am working on a new order. My stepdaughter is trying to get a job in a very artistic coffeeshop. She talked to the owner about my jewelry and hats. He wants to write up a contract with me for my jewelry! Any suggestions on getting a deal and having a contract with someone?? I am very new at this!
I really find something wonderful about making something with me hands. I have been reading a lot of knitting and sewing books to inspire me, but I am so scared. We really don't have the extra money for me to buy fabric, just to mess everything up. So I want to be sure that I know what I am doing before I try anything. But how can you really know what you are doing without trying? Trial and error is the best way to learn, don't you think? So I am trying to talk myself into being brave and just going for it.
I also am going to make a bunch of hats up and sell them. I don't know where or the best way to go about it, but I am hoping I figure it out soon. I would love to make some money off of something that gives me peace.
Almost everyone has heard of Secret Santa, where you recieve a gift but you don't know who it is from, and you also secretly give someone a gift. Well I want to do that, or something like it. They built a new cancer center in town and we just lost an old friend to cancer. Well she wasn't old. She was in her late 40's. They found the tumor, told her she had a month, but she only lived about a week. It just shocked everyone. But I was reading Debbie Macomber's Blossom Street series when this happened. Alix's prayer shawl struck a cord with me when the grandma died with that on her shoulders. Wouldn't it be nice to have something like a shawl to know that someone, someone you don't even know, is praying for you and hoping that you survive? It would be like a constant hug around someone's shoulders who is trying to fight the good fight. So I am considering making a bunch up and shipping them to the cancer center. Or maybe asking around to see if anyone has a family member amidst the struggle.
Please comment or make suggestions. I love getting messages. Or tell me to shut up if you wish!!
