Easter things and CLEARANCE in my Etsy Shoppe!
Thursday, March 20, 2008, 01:48 PM EST [General]
Where has the time gone, almost the end of March and Easter is this Sunday? I'm plugging along, working my butt off on assignments and trying to add some little lovelies that make me happy so I don't get stuck in a rut. I made this postcard as a little demonstration on my {other} blog to show how much sewing on paper and your projects can really add a lot of dimension, texture and interest to projects. Just when you think you may be done with a little paper something, add a little machine or hand stitching to it, you'll add some vavoom and be totally addicted once you have! Check out my gallery to see some of the other examples I posted. On other news, I've put most everything in my ETSY shoppe on clearance. It's time to clear that place out so I can justify adding some more things to it. Living under a mushroom

I' ve been neglecting this, so sorry. This week I have been under the gun to finish some projects for EK Success. They have a Creative Artist Team (same as a design team) and I'm one of them. This week I was busy creating pages for the SDU Program...and next week it's the same...and the week after that it's new headers for AC Moore...incidentally if you go into AC Moore and look at the EK Success headers I created all the pet pages that are on display at the moment. Many people tell me they are surprised that I design for EK because my style is so much different than theirs. But, in all honestly, I do love working for them. Challenging myself to use products that I wouldn't normally use, in ways that I normally use things - makes me a better designer. Plus, everyone at EK so nice to work for, I can't imagine not working for them! The only thing that I am no able to do is share the work I make for them. If you are interested to see my EK work you can go to their site, and search on my name and the projects I have created will appear. I can however, share my own projects with you!! The farewell page is a page I designed for ScrapMuse. I was on their design team as the NEwsletter Designer and Team Coordinator. I had been doing it for over 3 years and resigned to do some new things....but now I'm back this month as a designer because they were short handed. The True Colors is a 12 x 12 paper quilt I designed for Quilting Arts True Colors Challenge. They were supposed to notify everyone yesterday of their acceptance, and since I didn't hear I a guess it wasn't accepted. That's the hardest part about making things for challenges..if they don't get accepted then your feelings are dashed. But no worries, I have other plans for this baby! Well, have a great weekend everyone! CAtch you on the flip side! New Collages for the WEEKEND!

More favorite things collages! These two turned out as nice as the first, and I love the touch of blue on the second one. That one still needs some work to the two boxes in on the left column - the top and middle ones....not sure who.what.where.when I'll be adding things- cause nothing has hit me yet. The first one is for a very good friend. I hope she likes it! Have a great MONDAY! Completed Collage

This project was so much fun to do, I can't wait to teach it on Monday. It's on a Gallery wrapped 8" x 16" Canvas and uses lots of paints, crackle mediums and paints, vintage post cards, tickets and papers....I can't wait to hang it. I had originally intended on using wax to attach some of the elements - but I have decided that I don't like wax... Have a lovely day! ETA: Charlotte Lyons has an article in Cloth, Paper Scissors December/January issue about her Things I Love Collages...that's where this idea came from, and a great step by step set of photos too! GREAT article and way to use up old stuff! |
