I recently returned from the Spring Quilt Market in Portland, Oregon. What a fantastic tradeshow. More than ever, I saw vintage/retro fabrics from all the fabric manufacturers — you should have no trouble finding these at your local fabric shops. The designs created with these fabrics were incredible. Designers such as  Valori Wells, Tanya Whelan, Joel Dewberry and the whole  Westminster group had fabulous showcases of their work in their booth. I also noticed a lot of new reproductions in all of the manufacturer's lines.

The inspiration and energy created by the designers and vendors at this show make you want to do nothing else but quilt and sew — If only I could.

It's that time of year, so we're off to Portland Oregon for Spring Quilt Market. I'll be sure to let you know what's new when I get back.

June will be here before we know it and the largest Bead & Button show is the first week in June. It is held in Milwaukee at the Midwest Airlines Center June 1-8. The show is offering a commerative bead this year by Bead artist, teacher, and exhibitor, Kim Fields and you can one of the lucky ones to own it, if you hurry, there is a limited amount. I hope to to be there on Friday when it is open to the public.

Spring is here, and next month Chicago will host International Quilt Festival, April 11-13, 2008 in Rosemont, Illinois at the Donald E. Stephens Center. click here
