I've been beading for a few years now. I learned the basics from the knowledgeable ladies at Harlequin Beads in Eugene, Oregon, and went off to bead to my heart's content.
Then a copy of designer, teacher, author Carole Rodger's Beading Basics arrived. Wow! little did I know what I've been missing. For example, on page 20 Carole shows five different ways to tie off a strand. The one I'm anxious to try uses a crimp bead (uncrimped) and a clamshell bead for a nice un-messy way to tie off and hide the stringing thread.
Beading Basics is supposed to be for beginners, but I figure everyone from an absolute beginner to experienced beaders looking for a refresher course or some new tips and techniques will want this book.
Oh, and did I mention, the designs are wonderful. They're easy enough for the beginner and sophisticated enough for anyone looking for some fresh design ideas. This is definitely my new favorite book.Take a look at it and let me know what you think.
