When in doubt, find out (from me). If you can't decide whether to say yes or no, it's a NO! (also from me). Give yourself permission to take a nap every day~doctor's orders (also from me). If you stop learning, you die (from my beloved Granny Bunny).
Location:
La Selva Beach, California
My Crafts:
I LOVE to do ALL kinds of arts and crafts. I have several projects going at once. It's hard to find time to do them all. I LOVE being creative. I LOVE color. I tat, crochet, knit, embroider, sew, paint (prefer acrylics and LOVE metallics, but want to work more on watercolor), amateur at refinishing furniture, am learning how to make different types of jewelry, have a mean hot glue gun. Also love to cook, and make a fabulous homemade strawberry jam.
My Inspirations:
My grandmother was a master gardener and florist to support her family after her husband died. She taught all four sons, their wives and grandchildren to be creative in many forms. She was learning and sharing until she passed on at the age of 98.
My Shows:
Our son got us hooked on American Idol (and now he doesn't watch it). I also watch Dancing with the Stars, loved the one with ice dancing because I grew up roller skate dancing. Also enjoy the CSI's. I grew up watching the original Star Trek series, really enjoy The Next Generation series. America's Test Kitchen, Clean House, Clean Sweep, any DIY programs (I learned a lot from these when we had to sort through three houses and an apartment since 2001). It sounds like I watch a lot but I really don't. I get up and do a lot during the commercials! I have to rest often because I have Chronic Fatigue/Fibromyalgia and watch while I knit or sew.
My Movies:
Any Cinderella type of movie like Ever After, Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister, Cinderella with Brandy and Whitney Houston by Disney (anyone have the musical sound track?)(love the happy ending and the good guy gets the girl). Also enjoy True Lies, Mr and Mrs Smith, Phantom of the Opera by Andrew Lloyd Weber, musicals with singing so I can sing or whistle along, watching old movies with my husband.
My Books:
Anne McCaffrey, fantasy, fairy tales, science fiction with fantasy, inspirational romance books and novellas, Betty Neels, crafts books, how-to fix-it books, painting books, etc. What don't I read? Really violent or gory stuff. I once had an English teacher refer me to a garbage disposal cuz I read so much.
My Magazines:
Reader's Digest (it used to have better humor, different style), National Geographic, any Reminisce, Country, Birds & Bloom mags, Cooking by America's Test Kitchen, etc.
My Music:
I like New Age music, David Lanz, vocal singing, Barbra Streisand, Sandra Patty, Andrew Lloyd Weber (LOVE Phantom of the Opera, the movie version), anything instrumental that I can listen to while I create, anything I can sing or whistle to while I create, happy music that keeps me upbeat and my energy levels going. I like to buy stuff at the outside venues that people make themselves cuz they are very artistic.
My Occupation:
Campus Security and Cafeteria Supervisor
My Family Members:
My beloved husband of almost 34 years whom I met roller skating, and our son who is going to school at The Los Angeles Recording School to become a recording engineer. Both my men love music and are very talented. I have a creative and talented sister, a fabulous niece and nephew who have wonderful spouses and children. Everyone I know has some creativeness there just waiting to pop out and show you what they can do.
My Other Hobbies:
Did I not mention them all yet? I do love to roller skate, garden, ride a Goldwing with my husband (short distances preferred) through the redwoods or along the ocean coast of California, cook, clean house (when it gets so cluttered I can't stand it, which is continual since I am a sanguine and need everything out where I can see it or I lose it). I like to be in nature and get energy from nature.
