Hi, I'm Arlene Swiatek Gillen and I am pleased to see my design on the Painting & More site! The daisies are painted on a vintage cobalt rose bowl. I was hooked on decorative painting from the moment I watched a teacher paint a beautiful leaf with two strokes of a double-loaded brush. It was magic! That was ten years ago and now I am a teacher, designer and author. I will be sharing some photos with you in the near future of upcoming convention classes and also give you a peak into my newest book, "Glorious Glass: 20 Sparkling Ideas for Painting on Glass & China". Have you painted on glass or china? Were you happy with your results? I would love to get your feedback.

Hi Arlene,
MC KathyI'm delighted to see you on the site and I'm looking forward to seeing photos of the items you've painted for your convention classes. Where will you be teaching this spring?
I love painting on glass and china -- it's so forgiving! If you make a mistake or you don't like what you've just painted, wipe it off with a damp cloth and try again. I don't know of very many painting surfaces where you can do that without leaving a mess.
I've seen lots of handpainted glassware and china in the stores and they are always too expensive to buy, so it's great to know I can paint my own and have it look just as good.
