    Star Garland

    Monday, November 17, 2008, 08:31 AM [General]

    Supplies:

    Printed Paper
    String
    Star Template
    Pencil
    Scissors
    Cropodile or small hole punch

    Instructions:

    • Print star template on cardstock, trace as many stars on your pattern paper as you'd like. I use about 9-10 stars per yard. Punch a hole in the centre of each star. If you are using your cropodile make sure to punch with the smaller hole ;)

    • Trim your string (yarn or ribbon works great as well) to your desired length.

    • Tie a knot in your string and lace star through. Tie another knot to keep the star in place. ...and that's it!  Super easy and pretty garland, a perfect addition to your holiday décor!

    Distressed Background

    Thursday, November 13, 2008, 07:02 PM [General]

    To create background...
    •  I first crumpled the blue paper
    •  then I flattened it out with my hands
    •  and sanded the edges slightly
    •  I then attached adhesive to the back
    •  and attached it to my red background
    •  to finish it off I used my sewing machine around the edges
(this helps to keep the edges down)

My daughter, Bre, who is 13, took all the pictures in this layout :)  I`m so blessed that she has an eye for photography :D

    Magnetic Board Part Two :)

    Monday, November 3, 2008, 02:15 PM [General]

I altered a cookie sheet to create a little "to do" board!

    Steps to create...
    • Measure your pattern paper and trim to fit your cookie sheet.  Attach paper to cookie sheet using a "herma" type adhesive (dry adhesive).
    • Glue on rick rack or ribbon, to cover any paper "seams", using wet adhesive such as Aleene's Quick Dry Tacky glue.
    • Attach little magnets to the back of clothes pins, buttons, flowers, little cookie cutters...whatever you have on hand!

The "To Do" title is created using Maya Road bottle caps and American Craft Thickers.

I've got a couple more to look at on my other blog...

    Have a wonderful day!

    Supplies:

pattern paper cut in a circle
    needle and thread
    button

    1.  Crunch up your pattern paper circle.

     2.  Straight stitch with your needle and thread around the circumference of your circle.  Gently pull the thread to gather as you make your way around until you've completed your circle.

    3.  Sew a button in the centre if desired.
