Well, I'm a little biased about this week's free project. Naturally, I'm going to tell you it's amazing and incredibly cool, but that might be because it's from my own book, Plexi Class! I have a passion for working with Plexiglas and I can tell you that even if you've never worked with this material before, there are plenty of projects in this book suitable for a beginner and for great weekend projects. The project featured here is especially easy because working with shrink plastic is a primary element to making the piece. So dowload it today and see how fun working with plastic can be! And feel free to check out my blog for more plexi inspiration.

This week's free project comes from the book Lifelines by Carol Wingert and Tena Sprenger. This book is all about celebrating the valued relationships in your life by expressing them through mixed-media projects. In addition to all of the inspiration that's in this book, for creating memory art, there are also a ton of really cool techniques like the one featured in this project. Who can resist a cool resist? Discover how easy it is to create your own unique background papers (for collage, scrapbooking or journaling) using personal elements and spray paint.
To try this technique yourself, download the project by clicking here.

If you're already familiar with the magic of Sally Jean Alexander, then you'll understand why I'm enchanted with this week's free project. It comes from Sally's beautiful book, Pretty Little Things. While almost all of the projects in the book come together with the act of soldering, this project is an exception--no solder needed. Try your hand at making your own pretty little things, and don't forget to sprinkle a bit of glitter on top.

Do you love making artists' books as much as I do? Sometimes I get so wrapped up in other creative ventures that I forget how rewarding it is to return to bookmaking from time to time. For me, few things give the same variety of instant gratification as making a handmade book. And when it comes to making books, author Michael Jacobs is as creative as they come. This free project from the book is great for beginners and seasoned bookmakers alike and it's a great way to use some of that pretty decorative paper you've been saving but haven't known what to do with.

The free project of the week for this week is a very cool cuff bracelet from Semiprecious Salvage by Stephanie Lee. This project makes use of a thrift store silver spoon and metal alphabet stamps. In addition to forging and stamping, you'll also learn how to give metal an aged look in this project. There is a great narrative that runs through this book in the form of an explorer's diary. We follow along as she and her team of expeditioners dig up long forgotten objects and imagine the stories behind their origins.
