his week we are featuring another innovative technique from Lifelines by Carol Wingert and Tena Sprenger. Even if you are not a scrapbooker, this is a great technique to use if you enjoy adding the look of hand lettering to your artwork.
For this project, Tena made great use of an embossing pen, and the finished resist look is just so cool. This technique would work on a variety of papers and embossing pens come in different sizes to suit your style. Even if you've never used embossig powder before, the directions here couldn't be easier, so give it a try!
For each project in Lifelines, Carol and Tena begin by sharing the inspiration behind the art to get your creative wheels turning, followed by step-by-step instruction for one key artistic technique you can adapt to create meaningful masterpieces of your own:
- create spray paint resists with objects
- stamp and emboss on metal
- acheive a faux stained-glass effect
- use rub-ons to transform three-dimensional objects
- alter photos for a pop-art effect
- and more!
