This week's free project is the Zip-Up Tassel Vest from Soft + Simple Knits for Little Ones by Heidi Boyd.

Heidi shows two versions of the vest in her book, one purple and green and the other pink and blue. They are so soft and cozy and the bright contrasting colors are perfect for young kids. Be sure to check out the book (click here to buy it) if you haven't done so because there are matching stuffed toys to go with the vests. You can see the stuffed spotted dog in the main vest picture, and there's also a striped cat.

There are tons of other great patterns in this book—over 40 in all. It's great to have on hand for when you need to knit for babies and toddlers. Please post what you make from the book! We love to see it.
