Free Knitting Needle Case How-To from Warm Fuzzies

    Thursday, July 10, 2008, 03:53 PM [General]

What do knitters like (almost) as much as knitting? Sewing knitting accessories, of course. And who among us doesn't need a little bit of knititng organization? So today, we give you step-by-step instructions for making your very own knitting needle case.

The project comes from Betz White's book, Warm Fuzzies. She makes all of her projects out of felted sweaters. If you're a real over-achiever, you could certainly start from scratch by knitting a piece of sturdy fabric and felting it down. But why do that when it's so satisfying to shrink a sweater—on purpose?

Pretty cute, huh? It's also a pretty innocuous sewing project—a good one to start with.

    Here it is opened up:

Check out the book for more fabulous ideas for upcycling felted sweaters into supercute new creations. (Make sure to check out the cupcake pincushions! Even knitters need a place to stash those straight pins.)

    Enjoy!
