May 15, 2008 - Jughead Hat project
This weeks project, from the book DomiKNITrix, is all about the bad boys in your life. Author Jennifer Stafford writes, "I have a theory that jughead is the archetype upon which Shaggy from Scooby-Doo was based, along with every slacker character who has come after who eats too much but never gains an ounce. This hat would be just as at home on a Bowery Boy as on Bart Simpson. There's just something about this hat that makes your boy look, well...bad."
Along with this pattern you'll learn: provisional cast on, removing cast-on edge, short rows and grafting garter. Click here to download and get started!

Austin Armwarmers
Fittingly enough, I'll be driving off to Austin, Texas next week for my first really actual roadtrip. In honor of this momentous occasion, I bring you the Austin Armwarmers from YarnPlay, by Lisa Shobhana Mason.
Lisa is also the author of YarnPlay at Home.
Did you know the Craft Mafia started in Austin? In fact, it was started in part by one of our authors, Jennifer Perkins, aka The Naughty Secretary. Her fun jewelry book, The Naughty Secretary Club, will be out in July--it's got great jewelry projects PLUS hilarious secretary-themed sidebars.
Enjoy! As always, please post pictures of your Armwarmers if you make some. I've always wanted to try this pattern, but haven't yet! Looking forward to seeing your craftiness.
